One of my favorite projects this year was keeping separate journals for each of my kids. I used Hobonichi Weeks planners to document for them. I used the daily boxes to write things that happened everyday or things they said. I then used the blank page on the rughtnit make a little scrapbook layout or additional journaling. Much like I do for myself in my traveler's notebook. I used Kelly Purkey's new Best of Times main kit and the This Is Us traveler's notebook kit to create this layout in my daughter's journal. I love how the colors from both kits worked so well together! I used circle punches to create a few embellishments on the page along with a a few of the tags from the main kit that I cut out. This particular week was filled with a lot of family time and hanging out with friends. The stamp sets from both kits helped document these memories perfectly!
I can't believe we're already halfway through October! I had so much fun with Kelly's September releases! I used the Admit One traveler's notebook kit and stamp set to create a fun layout for a music festival I went to over the Summer. It's perfect for those times where you have printable tickets or wristbands, to create a fun ticket stub yourself! I also used the new Lexington alpha and Wild stamp sets to create this layout from a recent trip to Muir Woods.
The August releases from Kelly Purkey were perfect for me to document some of our summer adventures and going back to school! My kids loved the Exploratorium in San Francisco. I used the Life Lessons and Summer Vacation kits to document our last visit there before school started again. One of my favorites from this release is the Perry alphabet set. It's so fun and perfect for creating titles! The Life Lessons kit was perfect for documenting back to school!
Welcome to the new 2016-2017 Happy Planner™ BLOG HOP featuring posts by the me & my BIG ideas Design Team! I’m excited to show you the style of my new Hello Life Happy Planner and share how I plan to use it come July. The Hello Life planner is the new 8 1/2"X11" sized planner. Just as I have been doing this last year, I'll be using this to memory plan and document my family's life. I love that this planner has the same watercolor theme and uses the same color palette throughout the entire 18 months. The clear blue discs on this planner are such a pretty color! The monthly tabs are laminated and there's even gold foil ones! The larger boxes in this planner will give me more space for photos and journaling. I also love that I will be able to print out anything and add it in without having to cut it down to size!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Keep the HOP going by heading over to mambi Design Team member Nicole Lensen's blog to see which Happy Planner™ she's got her hands on! This will be my 13th Christmas as a mom and only my first year doing an advent calendar with my kids! It wasn't something my mom did while I was growing up, so it just wasn't something I did either. As my two youngest have grown more aware of every holiday coming up and asking me how many days til this day or that day, I thought it would be fun for them. When I saw all the fun holiday stickers mambi had, I knew putting together this calendar would be a piece of cake! To make this calendar, I bought a large white poster frame from Michael's. I removed the clear plastic piece and the cardboard backing. I then cut 3 pieces of twine and hot glued them to the back of the frame. Next I grabbed some bitty bags, mini clothespins and mambi stickers. I decided not to just use the number stickers. I mixed them up with the little Christmas sayings and even spelled out numbers with the letter stickers. I attached the bags to the twine with the mini clothespins. I also used a few more of the clear stickers right on the wall, above the bags. Can't wait til my kids get to start opening their little surprises!
I loved making my Gratitude album last November, but I knew I just wouldn't have the time to get one complete this year. I still wanted to make a small gratitude layout for my album, and The Good Life mambiSTICKS were perfect for it! "Start each morning with a grateful heart" - I love this quote and wanted to make it the focal point of this layout. I cut a gold foil mambiSHEET down to 6x8 and placed the sticker in the middle. I placed the thankful, blessed and grateful circle stickers right onto my page protector. I filled in the rest of the pockets with some photos, mambiSHEETS and a few POCKET PAGES™ clear stickers. I'm so grateful to be married to my best friend who fills my life with love and laughter. To be the mother of 3 amazing kids. To have parents who are involved in our lives and who I can depend on for anything. What are you thankful this year? I've been a stay at home mom now for nearly 4 years. I left my job shortly after having this sweet little guy and realized that I just didn't want someone else with him all day while I worked. He was baby #3 and I knew he was probably going to be the last. As I sat down last week planning what I was going to do when he started Pre-K, I had to put this layout together. Usually when I put together my weekly layouts, I focus on just what we did and where we went. Sometimes I forget to remember to include the regular little moments. Like how he plays with the same box of animals every single day. Or how for the last 3 years, he always has his blankie wrapped around his thumb when he's sleeping. This kid will do anything for some chocolate! With school, clubs, sports, homework etc. I forget to take the camera (actually, phone lol) out and capture these little things I see all the time. I need to remember to do this more often because this is one of my favorite layouts! I used the Sunshine core kit. I also need to sit back and enjoy all these little moments because they go so fast.
Our schedule has been so hectic since the kids have been in school. I'm still trying to get caught up on Project Life. I did a quick and simple layout for Week 40. We had a new addition to our family this week, my nephew. I snapped this photo of my kids with my brother's kids shortly after they came home from the hospital and blew it up to 6x8. I used letter stickers right on the photo along with enamel dots to mimic the dots on the journaling card. I used a 4x6 card from the Strawberry core kit with a "Hello" acrylic piece from Color Cast Designs. The "live laugh love" banner also came from a card in the Strawberry core kit that I cut out and pasted to the photo. I'm hoping to find some more time in the next few weeks to get up to date, I'm not too far off!
This week my daughter's first grade class went to the pumpkin patch with their eighth grade buddies. I'm so happy that I was able to be a driver and be there with her. I made this layout with just the Midnight core kit and the cute acrylic pumpkin is from Color Cast Designs. I love how the orange pumpkin pops against all the black and white!
