The Rest & Relax Bonus Traveler's Notebook kit is definitely a favorite of mine from the Kelly Purkey April shop update! I love the color palette and all those leaves!
I loved the patterned paper with the half circles on them. I decided to cover most of the graph half circles with photos from a hiking trip. Luckily I had a circle punch that fit perfectly and made pulling this layout together a breeze.
Next I took the word stamps and randomly stamped them in white on the solid half circles.
To finish this layout, I took the colorful leaf patterned paper and cut a half circle from it, and adhered that to the pink leaf patterned paper. I then added a label and a coupe stickers to the layout. It's very simple but definitely one of my favorite layouts!
Hello everyone! Hope your April was a great one and you're ready for May! I just wanted to share my April projects using Ali Edwards new releases. This first project I created with the April Stories by the Month kit. I used the "special moments" stamp to create a patterned background. I covered half the page with black cardstock to make the instax print stand out a little bit more. I used a white pen for my journaling which gave my layout a nice pop. I finished with a couple embellishments and a few splatters of yellow paint.
My next layout I created with Ali's April Digital release. I resized one of the 4x6 cards to fit in my traveler's notebook. I added a digital brush to each photo before printing them on my instax Share.
Here's a sneak peek at my projects for the Type Story kits. I'm a Gueat Storyteller this month in the Type classroom. If you're a subscriber, my full layouts and process will be available to you there!
Hello everyone! I just wanted to share a quick peek at my projects for Kelly Purkey's March releases. This first project I created with the Tina's Currents TN kit by Life Love Paper. I just love her handwriting and her doodles! It was prefect for my weekly journaling and updates in my Hobonichi Weeks.
For my next project, I used the Number One kit and Ramona alphabet. To create the ice cream cone, I used the circle stamp from the Number One kit to make the ice cream scoops and also the dot patterned stamp to create the cone. I used washi tape to mask off the shape of the cone before I stamped. I love how it turned out!
When I found out Traveler's Company would be adding blue passport and regular sized traveler's notebooks to their regular lineup, I was so excited! I already had the 2015 Limited Edition Blue, and the color is beautiful, and I couldn't wait to add a blue passport to my growing collection. Finally they are here! I have both the passport as well as be regular sizes available in the shop now! Pen holders will be coming soon!
This month's Story Kit theme from Ali Edwards is Home. There are so many different stories to be told with this kit. The first story I decided to tell with this kit was the story of buying our first home. I pulled out photos from nearly 10 years ago for this layout. I haven't seen these photos in just about that long and it brought back a lot of memories. One of the many things I love about Ali's kits is that it gets me to tell stories from the past that I haven't documented yet.
For this layout, I used one of the blue house acetate embellishments at the top of the page. Underneath that, I stamped "and here's the story about that" and "home". I used the cork numbers to add our house number underneath my journaling.
On the the right side, I used a potted plant patterned paper as a background for my photos. After adding 3 Instax photos, I added stickers to each photo.
I say it every month, and it' so true, I love Kelly Purkey's releases for February! I started playing with the stamps as soon as thy arrived. I created this layout in my journal with the Wearing and Loving stamp set and the stamp set from the Carpe Diem kit.
The Loving and Wearing stamp set was definitely a favorite this month. I love all the different combinations and possibilities the set has. I created my title with the Chelsea Alphabet added a few stamps from the You Got This TN kit.
I used the Chelsea alphabet along with the Take a Hike stamp set to create this layout from a trip a few years ago to Zion National Park. The Take a Hike stamp set sold out quick, but will be restocked on March 28th!
The main thing that has drawn me to Ali's Story Kits and Story Stamps is that many times they get me to tell past stories or stories I may have not thought to document. I'm usually so consumed with telling stories that are going on now, and keeping my albums and journals current. Two out of three of my kids have blankies. They're now 7 and 9. Those blankies are still a part of our daily lives. But I've never written down how they came to be attached to those blankies. When I saw that this month's theme was fabric, I knew immediately that I needed to get this story in writing.
Initially I was going to write each of their stories seperately. As I was going through old photos, I came across one of my favorites of them together, both with their blankies, so I chose to write both stories on the same layout. There were already some circle elements in the kit this month, so I decided to punch the photo with a circle punch. I also cut pieces of their blankies into circles and had my mom sew them onto the layout for me.
I will likely retell the stories individually in the kids own journals also. I just love how this layout came together. Definitely one of my favorites!
Kelly Purkey realeased some more amazing kits in January! I created this layout with the Forever Traveler's Notebook Kit designed by Life Love Paper. I love Tina's designs and script.
This layout in my Project Life album was made with the My Universe Kit. I'm not up to date with this album, but glad I got started! I really need to set aside time every week for this project like I do for my daily and weekly journaling.
The craziness of the holidays have finally died down and we're back into our regular routines, thank goodness! This was my first month as an Ali Edwards creative team and I had so much fun creating my stories.
I was also asked to be a Guest Storyteller for the December kits, For the Love. I created one Pocket Page layout and one Traveler's Notebook layout. Those layouts went live on January 1st, so if you were a subscriber in December, make sure to go check out the full projects!
The first project I created was for the Stories by the Month kit. These new monthly kits are based on last year's digital releases. This month had a Love theme. I used the "good love" stamp to create a patterned background in my traveler's notebook. I then layered one of the journaling cards with a photo and the "be the love" chipboard piece. I created a tag that I placed behind my matted photo for a little journaling. I used the "thank you for loving me" stamp in the tag and added some grey baker's twine to pull it out easily.
My next project was made with the January Digital Kit. I enlarged the "January Details" journaling card so it would fit into my son's journal. I used my typewriter to add his answers to the card before adhering it into the journal and embellishing with a few strips of washi tape. I placed the "celebrate" and "life right now" digital stamps onto the photo before printing.
My final project this month was with the Story Kit and Story Stamp, Changes. I decided to tell the story about becoming a stay at home mom and the changes and sacrifices that came along with that decision. I printed photos of my kids that were taken around the time of that change. I punched them into circles and used the circle chipboard pieces from the Story Kit and placed them randomly on the page that I had already splattered tinsel Color Shine on. I added a couple of the wood veneers as well. I then heat embossed "change" in black on the left page and "transition" on the right page. I added my journaling with my typewriter to complete the layout. As always, Ali has some amazing kits this month and I loved the stories she sparked for me!
The day after Christmas, I was finally able to catch my breathe. All the shopping, parties and potlucks were done with. We still had family from out of town here with us and I was happy to just be able to spend some quality time with them. I took my kids along with my cousin and aunt to go see Coco. It was such a good movie! It had us all in tears at the end. It;s not often that we get to hang out like this, so I wanted to make sure I documented our little movie date. I used the Fresh Start traveler's notebook kit from Kelly Purkey's December release as well as the Details of the Day kit and Richard alpha. I took the patterned papers from the TN kit and punched out hexagons which I randomly placed along the layout. I then printed a photo with my Instax Share and placed that on the left page. I stamped COCO with the Richard alpha above the photo. I used the overall rating stamp from the Details of the Day kit, and stamped that on one of the hexagons. I colored in the stars with a yellow marker. I then stamped the lines on and added a little journaling. I completed the layout with my movie ticket stub!
